I get that you believe it will get you more visibility– that’s the justification that spammers use.
Or that you’re just trying to list everyone you’re thankful for or trying to make sure a friend gets help from as many people as possible.
But what really happens on Facebook (and soon with LinkedIn) is that the system notices you’re abusing the system to generate a flood of notifications.
It’s the equivalent of robo-dialing or tapping everyone in the room on the shoulder.
I’ve seen even people who I thought were smart on-line marketers do this– it’s as silly as “forward this to the next 10 people and Bill Gates will give you $100” or whatever.
